Whats everyone using for observation, binocs or scope?

Not looking to break the bank here, my $39 Nikon binocs took a dip last year and I need to buy a couple units for general use, one for truck, one for bag. I'd like to get a decent focal length, (50 would be nice but that usually leads to a large size) light weight and inexpensive.

Not looking to spot shots at 100 yards, just something general. Any good cheap stuff out there that wont come unglued when knocked around a little? Personal experiences?

Maybe a pair of binocs and a small scope? In the $50-100 range?
