Dying clothing and what is more durable in general for long term?

Okay, so I have some old military and military style clothing.

A few pairs of 50% nylon 50% cotton ACU, and some knock off mil spec clothing 50% polyester 50% cotton. I dyed the ACU pants black and got a cool dark grey digital pattern.

I'm just wondering, will polyester take as well as nylon?

What's really the difference?

So, is nylon more durable than polyester?

Which is more resistant to fading via age or bleach?

Which one is better for hot days?

Which is better at resisting being stained?

Is it all about the same?
