2017 Heartland/MidWest Get Together - Part 2

The "2017 Heartland Get Together - Part 2" is coming up during the week of Sept. 18th-24th, at Lake Perry Ks. That means there is only 2 1/2 months left before it starts. Put is on you calendar, now. The posted max occupancy is 100 people for the venue. As long as everyone is on their best behavior, there shouldn't be any issues if we go over that amount. Still let us know you are coming so we can save a place for you.

All SB members in good standing from KS, MO IA, NE CO, TX, OK, AR and TN are invited. Although, if you can drive, fly, walk crawl from any other state you are welcome, as well. We know that it's hard to get an entire week off. So, even though we have the site for an entire week, the "official" start of Get Together will be on Thursday at 8:00 AM. We've had such a good response so far with people willing to give classes that we actually had to bump check-ins up from noon to the earlier time. We've got time all week long, and it would be great if we had to bump up the "official" start to sometime Wednesday (or earlier), becasue of all the classes available. If you'd like to give a class and haven't gotten with us, let us know and we'll set aside a slot for you.

As far as what classes we do have, we've managed to put together some really good ones. There are a couple on Friday that will cost money, as on outside instructor will be on site (more on that later). The rest are free, though. I'll post the agenda, with all the classes list in a bit. Some of the ones we do have are (in no particular order):

"Solar Power Generation"
"Protein On The Homestead"
"Bullet Casting 101"
"Pressure Canning"
"cast Iron Cooking"
"Buying a Bug-Out Property - A Real Estate Agent's Perspective"

We've also been working hard to find sponsors for the event. We've managed to get some pretty good items to give away. Some are general door prizes, while others will be given away in conjunction with specific classes. Everyone who attends is eligible to win a prize. The more you participate, the greater your chances of winning something are though.

We've also got other activities planned. There will be a nightly campfire social time. A potluck dinner on Saturday, as well as the ever ubiquitous "Bartertown". If you don't know what that is, or who runs it, you'll just have to come find out. We'll also have activities for the young ones, so they don't feel left out.

If you want more detail on exactly what will be going on, visit the SB event thread we started at "017 Heartland/MidWest Get Together - Part 2". Go ahead and reply to this thread if you are planning on attending, so we can start figuring out who and how many plan on attending. Like I said, I'll be post more info about class details and schedule in the next day or so.

Remember, knowledge weighs nothing.
