Weapon cache PVC pipe/cap cost more than the rifle!

So far I've been buying expensive pimped out AR-15's but I'm starting to think it's a better idea to also buy many cheap bolt rifles, as much as i like semi's I'm starting to think that in a shtf situation I would rather have 10 bolt rifles spread out on different locations than a single semi that might get confiscated on day 1 (or a single cahce that might be dug up by a metal detector dude).

BUT problem is that no matter how cheap rifles I get the frikking PVC pipe cost more than the rifle itself!! Not only is a wide PVC pipe expensive, the cap for the wide ones are ridiculously expensive.

I get it, PVC pipes are super water proof, but how can anyone possibly justify that kind of price?

For example, would you rather pick:
a) 2 rifles double-sealed in plastic sealer (maybe with an outer layer of garbage bag) dug down without protection, or
b) 1 rifle sealed in PVC pipe

I'm almost getting tempted to just bury it without the PVC protection.

I've also looked into boxes, but the takedown rifle models (that could fit into 50cm box) is way more expensive than a non-takedown model.

I have found long boxes that could fit non-takedown rifles, but they are quite expensive and so huge I'm not sure I can even dig it down properly.

Let's block ads! (Why?)
