Analog scanner, consider it or forget it?

I was asking about scanners and radios recently. The digital trunked scanners go for about $300 and up including software. That is a bit pricey for me right now. There are the analog models like the one below for $120. I know alot of transmissions are digital and/or trunked. Do the analog scanners like below pick up things worthwhile or should I forget those and not buy a scanner until I can afford a digital/trunked one?
