Elderly Patriots

IMHO, the best way to stop the vandalism of historical monuments is to have ELDERLY PATRIOTS stand up to these vandals.

One media event of an oldster (grandma?) slapping a vandal will do wonders.
Better yet, one media event, where a gang attacks an elderly defender will puncture their balloon.

The youth think they're morally superior. They need some common sense imparted by the older generation.
