SHTF Weapon - no firearms

hey guys I have a question that I've been pondering for a little while.

I want some sort of hunting / defence weapon for SHTF but it can't be a firearm, as I'm not at the age of majority where I am.

the only viable options I've seen are a bow, slingshot, some assortment of melee weapons and such.

okay so slingshot: ammo is easy to carry, it can be very small, certain models can fire arrows, and such, I have no training with such.

bow: I shoot a 45# recurve takedown bow, I shot religiously for about a month and I'm quite good.

but how viable is a bow? I have a group of three who all train together with our bows. We also practice concealment because alone, one guy with a gun could possibly take me out, but if one guy with a gun is surrounded by 3-4 guys with bows drawn on him he won't have to much of a chance
