1) Texas is a major home to the dark cabal/"elites". Dallas and Houston in particular are major hubs.
2) Texas is the main base of the oil industry. Even if they secede, no doubt the rest of America would still be dependent on them largely for energy needs, but I think the chances of free energy emerging would be greater if they were not part of the US.
3) There's a chance they might take Oklahoma and Arkansas with them. Again no big loss to the US. We would still do business with them.
4) It would mean a big drop in the number of illegal aliens.
5) West Texas(west of the Dallas-Austin-San Antonio corridor) is by and large an economic basketcase. The US would be better off without it.
6) George W. Bush and Rick Perry go bye-bye. Personally, I don't think my heart could take another Rick Perry presidential bid. ; )
7) With the energy industry largely gone, there would be less chance of the US getting pulled into energy related wars.
