help converting modern cookstove

Yes, this is a 'seen it on tv' idea. Wondering if you could convert a modern cook stove to burn wood. Maybe building a fire box to fit in the broiler and pipe it out the back. Not sure if you could get a functioning stove top but at least the oven would work. Also you would have the benefit of heating the room with it, somewhat....

So, any of you ever try this?
