Once full and sealed, bugs shouldn't be an issue. The bags are impervious to air and water, so just protect them from punctures and they should be fine. Tubs are fine for that, as are 5 gallon buckets, trash cans, whatever you have. Be careful with some pastas, as they can poke holes through the mylar.
Also, once used, the bags should be stored in the coolest location you have to ensure the longest possible life. That should negate any possible weather conditions.
Mice and other vermin can chew through mylar, though, and that may be something you need to worry about. Some people store the bags in metal or glass containers, others make sure to have mouse traps around and/or let the cats roam around the storage area.
Hope that helps.
