I'm new to this whole forum thing. I was recently watching a YouTube video, it was posted by iraqveteran8888, and it was titled "Perfect Pairs". Obviously being a gun channel, it was self explanatory, it was about perfect paired handguns and long guns that share the same caliber. So perhaps in a SHTF situation, you only need one caliber for both weapons. They mentioned a lot of awesome guns, but did not mention one pair I thought of. I am a big fan of the Taurus Judge .45/.410. Its chambered for 2 1\2 or 3 inch .410 Bore rounds, and obviously can and will accept .45 Long Colt rounds. I wanted to know if there was a long gun in the same chambering.
I found some H&R which I don't care for and the Rossi Circuit Judge. None of which interested me, I saw some semi automatic shotguns chambered in .410, Sega and Remington etc. But I am interested in a lever action, and I found a Rossi lever action chambered in .410 2 1\2 shells, but it wont accept .45 Long Colt, obviously the .45 Long Colt has higher pressure. So, I'm wondering, would a Rossi, or any brand for that matter, .45 Long Colt lever action rifle safely fire .410 rounds? If the Judge revolver can fire both, or if a .357 can fire a .38, a .556 will fire a .223, a .7.62X51 fire a .308, the list goes on. Or would a .45-70 lever action fire a .410 and .45 Long Colt.
I know if the weapon is chambered for a specific caliber, than one shouldn't screw around. I'm just wondering if it was disaster situation (SHTF), in a pinch, what lever action could safely fire both 45 Long Colt and .410 Bore???
Will a .45 Lever Action safley fire .410 Bore as well?
