Amazon Kindle Alternatives

I do a combination of paper and kindle.

Kindle is nice because I can buy new ones from 'wherever ' at 2AM.

But electrical items have "glitches "

And I've gotten tired of Kindle and particularly Kindle unlimited's continual issues.

I'd like to still be able to buy books at 2AM, so I'm looking for alternatives.
What do you use?
