Dometic electric coolers/fridge/freezer

Just got a Dometic compressor type electric cooler and just checking it out. Seems extremely practical and efficient, even as a little freezer. My BOL is about 2.5 to 3.5 hours away which I go to quite often to work on and recreate. I have two, essentially ‘dorm’ sized fridges. One always on and one ready but good for food storage anyhow. Neither freezer section is worth a damn.

Other than the obvious benefit of water/thaw free cooling when on the road I think the real benefit of these little efficient Dometic type fridges/freezers is the ability to rather efficiently and quickly make ice. Now the low power consumption and smaller (and ostensibly quicker to freeze) cooler /freezer which runs great on battery eith minimal solar power, as well as 110v, can be used to make quite a bit of ice for conventional coolers, creating all sorts of better low and no power scenarios.....the DC amp load is very low considering how easy freezing cold it will get down to. Relatively easy ice!!
