Threaded barrels

I assume threads and specs. will be different for each caliber of weapon, but is there a standard for specific guns?

I see all kinds of adds for Beretta 92fs that is what I am currently researching now.

I have an older TEC9 that came with one but it is an oversized course thread and doesnt look anything like what is seen for a Beretta.
