Sweet Tooth? Fig & Strawberry Preserves

These preserves are fabulous! Simple to make and can’t be beat, especially for those who have a good supply of figs.

3 cups mashed figs
2 three ounce boxes Jello strawberry jello
2 cups sugar

Mix all above, bring to a boil and cook for 25 mins. Let stand / rest for 5 mins. Pour into hot jars, cap with hot lids and screw rings on tight. It’s amazing how something so simple taste so good. After you try these you will want to do a bulk canning which equals out to:

15 cups mashed figs
10 boxes of 3 oz Jello or 5 of the 6 oz Jello strawberry
8 cups of sugar

Have heard of folks using different flavors of Jello, but the strawberry is the best in my opinion.
