It's another tragic death in a long list of reckless government over-reach and violations of the 4th Amendment. And when I say reckless, it was a drug raid but no drugs were at the home and nothing criminal was going on at the home, and the correct subject was 10 miles away.
The extremely reckless no-knocks for drug raids is a process that simply must end. I support law enforcement but this practice is the worst practice and police should just stop doing these. The risk is just too high. The violence and potential violence is simply not worth the haul, and the incidents of tragic mistakes is just too high of a price. Innocent citizens should not have to live in fear of early AM doors being kicked in by police making mistakes.
Based on the information currently reported, it appears it was negligence homicide and I hope the Attorney General does the right thing and get to the bottom of the investigation, hold police accountable, and end the no-knock raid in nearly all but the most exigent of circumstances involving life or death emergencies. And their leader has cited founding documents, stating that in a time when the government no longer serves the people and ignores grievances, it's up to the people to remove the government.
And from the turnout, this is some serious stuff. I see several infantry companies worth of legitimately angry and well armed men and women who should not be ignored.
It'll be interesting to see how this plays out.
Note the headline doesn't really capture the crux of the issue, but it's interesting someone in the black militia had an ND injuring a few others. I don't know why the 3% were there, as everyone should want the end of no-knocks.
