If you are afraid someone steals your passwords at starbucks, run OpenVPN server at your home computer and OpenVPN client in your laptop. Route all your traffic encrypted by your home dsl. In the rare case that someone would physically tap into your home dsl to eavesdrop you, well, your surfing habits are least of the problems at that point.
That being said, TorGuard has served me perfectly for several years for ~$30/year. I can access torrent sites that are blocked otherwise and watch many US based streaming services that are geoblocked. At home I use separate Win7 virtual pc installation with that VPN and use it to access all the shady sites for my tv-series and movie downloads
Any Suggestions For VPN Service?
