Since we live on an island and food sources could be easily disrupted, my wife wants to use her food saver to store powdered milk and granola to avoid Mountain House prices; but we have questions. Should oxygen absorbers be added to the packets? Are there any negatives to having single servings of granola and powdered milk in the same packet? Are there any problems with vacuum packed storage of full fat powdered milk? She would also like to store individually the milk and cereal in bags sized to contain 5-7 servings of each also. For doing this should we be looking at Mylar bags instead of regular food saver bags? Thank you in advance for input/advice.
