its another caliber created just to fit the AR15 or 5.56 rifles, basically a 223 necked up to 25 caliber thats been given an old sounding name to appeal to fudds.. the case length is almost identical as with 223 but the bullet is larger which reduced the ogive of bullets you can use to those with generally poorer ballistic coefficients and shorter lengths.. i believe 87 grains was their target bullet weight..

this means it uses a marginally heavier bullet at marginally higher velocities but with much lower ballistic coefficients vs a heavy bullet 223 round meaning your costs in ammo pretty much double and all youre going to gain from it is maybe a 10 grain and 50fps improvement which due to the low BC is surpassed by 223 in almost no distance at all

my advice, avoid it and save your money
