Muscovy ducks

So, the fly's are already out.

Last year they got BAD. this year they will likely be WORSE.

I'm getting chickens for the ticks, but I know (now) their only so-so on fly's.

Whereas Muscovy ' s not only roost, but they eat fly's like crazy.
I have a source I can get them from for $3/per
(Friends who have over a hundred chickens and I don't know how many ducks... I bring them seafood.)

They said I should do 6, but since I might eat them and turn a few loose come thanksgiving (or if this keeps up give in and do the automatic door opener and just keep them penned up with neighbors checking on them from thanksgiving to Christmas!)

Anyway, I'm about convinced to get some, just thinking more like 10-12 and figured I'd start a conversation/solicit experence.

(I'm wavering between throwing together a simple coop in the run and going all out and doing a 8x16 coop/garden shed. Got most of the materials laying around as I turn it over in my mind... not my fault, I just have to hit Habatat for humanity whenever I'm near one...)
