Greetings from Kansas

Not sure I am a true "survivalist", but I am trying to become more fully self-sufficient after being widowed two years ago, and this site is an informational goldmine.

It seems to me that it is only common sense to want to be as independent as possible of systems not in my control, so I am just planning ahead, shoring up my defenses a little and enjoying reading all the interesting tidbits, stories and recommendations from like-minded individuals.
