In what world? You use 1 big bowl for mixing and 1st and 2nd rise, a floured breadboad for kneading, which is hardly triathalon level exercise, and a pan for 3rd rise and baking. (You can skip the 2nd rise, but your bread won't be as good or as healthy.)

You can just dust the breadboard off, and a damp cloth will mostly do it for the bowl and pan.

Then you can bake in this inexpensive folding oven over anything that produces flame:

And your loaf won't have that stupid bread-machine-paddle hole in it.

If you want to get a more brick oven effect, put some of those rough tiles they sell for making a regular oven bake more like a brick oven on the shelf. They'll travel with you easily when you move.

Someone gave me a bread machine for Christmas once. Obviously, someone who didn't really bake bread. Most useless kitchen appliance I ever owned--it got "regifted" as soon as the original giver would no longer know to be offended.

Anything that puts out a lot of heat using electrons is a total energy hog unsuited to off-grid living.

Let's block ads! (Why?)
