Disposing of a worn out suppressor?

How much space would something about 1 1/2" in diameter by about 6 or 8 inches long actually take? Put a nail in the wall of the garage or shed and hang it for decoration. Put it in the back of a drawer. Put it in a box in the attic. Wrap it in plastic and bury it in the yard.

The problem started when the paperwork was completed for the ATF.

Nope.

When I worked for an SOT, I didn't mess with that end, but we had a drawer in a locking metal cabinet that had the serialized pieces of machine gun recievers, suppressors etc.
We wouldn't hang into them if it wasn't necessary.

Can't leave a controlled item unsecured, and have to prove it was destroyed.

Turn in (i 'd probably chop it on a bandsaw) and DEFINITELY get a recept. Is the way to go.

...if it can't be serviced.
