I take 4 meds for my bipolar (I have nasty variants).

All of them are "old" for just this reason. I don't trust the new stuff. The old stuff works, I can live with the side effects.

If my husband ever gets seizure medication I will ensure it is something "old" with a tried and true reputation because I don't take chances with myself or my loved ones.
