I currently own a 12 gauge shotgun, AR-15 (5.56) and an AK-47 (7.62x39). I am interested in hunting here (CA) in the future and would like to purchase and all around hunting rifle for hog, deer, bear etc. I want a rifle that will be Under $1000 once complete. I am thinking a Remington 700 in .308 or a lever gun in .30-30 or .45-70? Or am I good with the other rifles I own? I am new to all of the ideas of hunting etc and definitely would want that firearm to also be capable of defending my self / family if the need arises. I open to all suggestions etc. Thank you all in advance for your time and knowledge.
