Living without Running Water, How Hard Could It Be?

Interestingly, there are a number of people who live on land without readily available water. Most simply have it trucked in and store it in very large plastic tanks.

Even so, it seems silly to carry water in buckets. It takes very little energy (or money) to pump water. A small single solar panel and 12V pump will move an amazing amount of water over a day. A $25 pump, and a 15 watt solar panel will pump over 1.5 gallons per minute, or about 100 gal per hour. All for about $60.
