No steel ammo at gun range

I got booted out of an outdoor public gun range because of my mil surp 7.62 39 ammo. Rangemaster Rick tested it with a magnet and determined my ammo was too dangerous to use, even shooting at paper.

Its understandable to want to prevent folks from beating up steel targets with high penetrating steel surplus ammo. But they wouldn't even let me shoot a paper target! This is an outdoor range with a dirt berm behind it!!!

The claim was, verbatim, "that stuff will ricochet for five miles. Too dangerous."

What is this? I'm suspicious of some sort of discrimination here against my cheap SKS and cheap mil surp ammo! A prepper's gotta make sure he can get time in at the range!

Has anybody else experienced this? It just seems a bit ridiculous to me. Maybe its because they can't turn in the steel casings for $$$.

Let's block ads! (Why?)
