I'll relay for my granddaughter. In Aventura

Power went down mid morning.
Winds have been howling all day.
Rain heavy.
All the usual.

She's holed up with her hubby and in laws.
2nd floor of 15 story concrete and steel apartment building. In laws moved in from their condo on Dumbfoundling bay before it hit.
No power means no AC or cooking.
Water is still working. Cell towers still up.

No significant water inside or outside the building.

They have plenty of food, water, and alcohol.

Cars are parked in the elevated parking structure. Pretty bomb proof.
Black water provides security.

She works for a company called Nexus. They make a line called OMeals. Similar to MREs but for backpacking and camping. Very fru fru quinoa and goji berry type stuff.
They processed $650 k of inventory before the storm. Everything they had. Most went to FEMA the balance was purchased by Florida Power and Light.
They left 2 armed guards in the plant but she can't make contact with them.

I think the fun starts after the storm.
