There is no foreseeable need for me to bug out. I'm staying in virtually any scenario.

But if I lived in a place that was subject to being forced from my home every 10 years or so by severe weather I'd cache things.

Securely cache them so that even if the house was totally destroyed the cache would survive.

I'd only take a few guns and a reasonable amount of ammo. Reason being that dependent on whatever situation you're bugging out to the worst case is that they could be confiscated or lost or stolen.
