Logged in, access denied, Posting without access.

This morning trying to read a thread from the list emailed to me I get "you do not have permission to access this page." I'm informed I need to make five posts first.

It's pretty difficult to post without access.

I have had access before so this is confusing. Perhaps there are areas I'm permitted in and others I'm not. If that's the case I shouldn't be sent links to non-permitted areas, and there should be some way for me to distinguish the areas, those I am permitted to access and those I can't.

I've had an excellent impression of the site up to now. This experience comes across as cliqueish.
