Re: New members, 1 star ratings, being patientHey guys, I've noticed a dismaying trend and that is someone green coming onto the board, or speaking up for the first time, and getting one star ratings for asking the most basic of questions. We have a normalcy bias of our own, and that is thinking that EVERYONE should be up to our level of preparedness...that it should be some sort of common knowledge. I don't know the exact stats but there are clearly a LOT of new members coming to the board, no doubt a result of the violent and widespread hurricane season and the pictures of displaced people splashed on our TV screens. Be patient, kind, and understanding. Take a note from the people in Houston and be ready to help each other out, no matter how basic the question. Half of the new threads have one-star ratings -- for what? That, to some, invalidates the quality of the info provided therein, or of the question itself. Thanks and carry on.
