Handgun Shooting vs Rifle Shooting vs Shotgun Shooting

In this thread I want to talk about the skill sets required to be good with a handgun vs the skill sets required to be good with a rifle vs the skill sets required to be goos with a shotgun. I don't want to talk so much about comparing the weapons themselves, saying one weapon is better than another, but rather talk about the skills required for each weapon. Obviously each of the three weapons has their own set of advantages, disadvantages, and uses.

That being said I do believe it is possible to be really good with handguns but terrible with rifles, or really good with shotguns but terrible with handguns, or any other combination you want to come up with. Just like with flying an airplane vs flying a helicopter, somebody whose never done any flying might think that the operation of those two machines is similar but its actually quite different as I have learned from what little experience with flying I've got. That being said I would like to discuss the skill sets for using handguns, rifles, and shotguns.
