I have used these guys for awhile to check drug prices. Mainly use it for Canadian online pharmacies but I think it has a function for us prices and yes they do vary, sometimes by a lot. If a generic drug is available in the states it tends to be cheaper than generics from Canada. I'm talking cash prices which can be cheaper than insurance copays.
My sister was just prescribed a drug that is $200+ here. Best Canadian price was $25, actually $15 + $10 shipping.
The disadvantage is shipping time, from 10-15 business days. So see if you can get a sample from your doc to tide you over. Then you have to plan ahead after that. Canadian pharmacies will ship up to a three month supply at a time and do ask for a RX form.
I believe pharmacy checker only sends you to accredited pharmacies but I always check that the website has a accreditation seal, there are three organizations and most places are covered by at least two.
I have never had any problem with shipments with customs but that's another reason to order way early. This is technically drug importing which is technically illegal but customs has been allowing a three month personal supply to pass for several decades. And you can ask or check the pharmacies FAQ, they will typically replace the package but that runs into a timeliness issue. Mostly they will refund your money if asked. Credit cards are used and are in us dollars. I do deal with diabetesexpress.ca but they ship in Canada only. So for CAD$ make sure your credit card does not charge for currency conversion, usually 3%. But CAD$ means you get about 25+% for your US$.
