I have 3 inverters and they are all modified sine wave inverters. Only one of them will work my Kill-a-Watt meter correctly. The other two the display on the Kill-a-Watt will not show up on the meter. The one that works is the smallest one, a Radio Shack 140 watt inverter. The other two are a Ralley 300 watt inverter and a Road Pro 1500 watt inverter. Using these two inverters the display on the Kill-a-Watt does not show up, but electricity does pass through them.
My question is, is it because these are not pure sine wave inverter that is not allowing the display to work properly?
I'm thinking it is because they are not pure sine wave inverters and I do plan on buying a pure sine wave inverter.
Below is a picture of the inverters.
