Upgraded my edc sidearm - Dan Wesson 1911

So I finally updated my edc sidearm.

I present the Dan Wesson Valor Commander 1911:

I swapped out the factory slim grips with some different G10 slim grips:

Swapped out the factor recoil spring plug with a Wilson flat, long nose:

Swapped out the stippled MSH with an Ed Brown flat MSH:

I'm a little rusty, but I'm getting it dialed in nicely:

All steel. Commander sized at 4.25" barrel. Flush cut and reverse crowned barrel. Currently has the included Heinie Straight 8 night sights that came with it. I will change to XS Big Dots eventually.

So now, all that is left to do if carry and shoot it for a few months and then send it off to Dave Severns for a 100% black-out job with his H.a.r.d. Hat treatment.

Her name...is Layla.

With 8+1 she weighs in at 2 pounds, 12 oz. That is (just) 6oz. heavier than my Kimber Pro Carry II with 8+1 - which has an aluminum frame.

Let's block ads! (Why?)
