Water, Mylar packed: Why so expensive?

Found a survival bag at a yard sale and decided that would spend $10 max for it.

I knew that the bag was worth that empty, so was worth it.

It contained a 6 of the 125 ml packs of water (little over 4oz). When I looked up the prices on line, 6 of these little things is $15 US.

You can get a 24 case of water bottles for $2.

Why are the Mylar packed ones so crazy expensive?

What are the pros and cons of water packaged in this way?
