I LEAVE the ball in the receiver .. or not

TRUCK and car and trailer tower guys...& gals...
OK, You vehicle has a receiver hitch on it and you do some towing, doesn't matter whether it is daily, weekly or maybe just once a year

the question is...
do you leave the ball in the receiver or take it off after each use and put it away until the next time?

Also.. a bonus question
If you have more than one vehicle with towing capacity do you have more than one ball ?(NO not THAT kind!) Does each vehicle have its own dedicated equipment or do you switch the ball(s) from vehicle to vehicle?
