Cheap Visual barrier plants

An edible hedge plant? Or a poisonous one?

I have a poisonous one (apparently), grows pea like pods with little poisonous peas. I can't remember what it's called. But my grandpa always told us they were poisonous to eat as children.

My front hedge is nearly 5 feet tall and doesn't need to be watered. Rain is good enough. Along the back, it's nearly 15 feet tall.

It spread to the one side of the house and the garage. You can't see through it during the growing months, only winter.

I'll ask him the name of it again, when I talk to him next.

It grows quickly.
