Nashville Mayor Worthless W****

Nashville's mayor has just admitted she's been having an affair with one of her guards. There have been numerous trips to exotic places--always on "official business", of course, and apparently on taxpayer money. Unfortunately she didn't have time for her son, who was involved with drugs and committed suicide last year.

There are so many decent people in Tennessee; why can't any of them get elected to public office?

All this comes a week after I attended a book signing of "A Murder in Music City". The case involved the brutal 1964 murder of Paula Herring, a 19-year-old freshman at UT who returned to her suburban home for a weekend visit. At the time Nashville had a sot mayor named Beverly Briley who was apparently having an affair with Paula's mother. That woman got around, mainly with every powerful man in the city. They needed to keep her quiet so a murder coverup was put in place. It was a disgusting, sordid affair as well as a disgrace to the city that tolerated Briley's behavior.

I hope Nashvillians will toss this mayor to the lions. America has many problems, and evil rulers is right at the top.

"A Murder in Music City" is a great read, in case you have any illusions left about American justice.
