Whats In NG Armories?

You might be surprised.

As you noted, different units have different missions, and their armories will reflect their missions. For most, however, there will indeed be enough small arms for each member of the unit to deploy in accordance with Table of Organization (T/O) and Table of Equipment (T/E). Which means rifles and pistols, at the least.

In an Infantry unit the armory will also have belt fed Squad Automatic Weapons, Tripod-mounted MGs, and 60mm mortars. [Caveat: I was an infantry company commander in a reserve unit some thirty years ago...so the actual weapons may have changed. The fact is, however, that units will have those items needed should the unit be called up for deployment. Among other maintenance and serviceability requirements, the members of the unit must train with their armament.]

There generally isn't a lot of ammunition in the armories - it must be requested for field training events and range qualifications, etc.; however, there will often be other equipment, munitions, and pyrotechnics on-hand. Again, generally speaking whatever the unit needs to be competent with and is required to deploy with should be available where they drill.

JMHO. YMMV.

Let's block ads! (Why?)
