He said it will overall lower people's taxes.

But from what I read it will make employer provided health care taxable, eliminate the real estate tax deduction and eliminate deduction for state and local taxes.

Then it will double the standard deduction.

Not sure what the new tax rates will be. Seems to not be enough information at the moment to tell the net effect.

If he is correct, then taking the standard deduction would result in a lower tax rate you get now by itemizing.
Whether that turns out to be true is the question.

Found a Long bed Tacoma!

Went to the Toyota dealership to get wipers for my wife's SUV and saw a crew cab with the 6ft bed. I have wanted one since they started putting the Lexus 3.5 v6 in them but they were special order only with 6ft bed and I refuse to buy something sight unseen. So I go up to look at it and it was 4x4 and the color combo I wanted with ever option I wanted. So bug out built thread coming in the future. I'm thinking a 2 in lift with black steel wheels. Nothing to ruin its drivablilty. Mabey steel bumpers front and back with a full size spare.
Going to get a camper shell and put a 250watt solar panel on the roof

How many lumen is required?

How many lumen is required from a flashlight to dazzle someone long enough to leg it?

Do I need 500 or less or 1000+ is the more the merrier or is there a cut off point in temporarily blinding someone?

I'm not looking for a specific model, there are lots to choose from in the UK but I need to know how much is required.

Survival Gear Additions, April 2017

In my last thread, Nomad, 2nd said I need to make it a little longer, so here I go.

For April 2017 I decided to focus on rechargeable USB devices. Rather than going with a large 12 volt panel, to a charge controller, and then to a battery, I decided to go dabble in a solar panel that has USB outputs.

My next solar project will to have running water in the house when the power goes out. This will take a few months to put into play. For right now, I wanted a way to recharge flashlight batteries, cell phones, AA/AAA batteries... etc.

What were your survival gear additions for April 2017?

Here are mine.

20 W foldable NekTeck solar panel.

Sunjack USB AA/AAA battery recahrger.

Xtar VC4 battery recharger. This thing charges more batteries than I have ever heard of.

Kaito voyager emergency radio.

May 2017

May 2017 will probably be a battery pack, another radio and "maybe" another foldable solar panel.

I really need to put some time and effort into fencing off a few acres for goats, sheep and maybe some cattle. It has been a month since I have cleared any brush for the fence.
