Pretty happy with my current gun battery, what do you think?

22 Carbines
Winchester 9422 XTR, Taurus 72 Pump .22 Magnum 16" BL Stainless 22 Mag, Marlin 70PSS (Papoose)
Shotguns
Mossberg 500 MTP (7-shot), Mossberg 500 Crusader (5-shot)

Some of the guns aren't just great guns, but I also bought them for their pleasure/investment/collection value. I'm talking about the HKP7 and Manurhin MR-73 here specifically.

I'm pretty happy with this so far. I'm looking to add another Glock. Would love a 357SIG but another 9mm like a Glock 19 seems more reasonable. Also looking for a quality 22 handgun, either a combo kit or good 22 LR revolver. A 9mm carbine would be nice too.

canning asian pears?

I'm going to be going over to a buddies house and picking up some of their "extra" asian pears tomorrow.

Last year I got (4) 5 gal buckets worth.
(Gave most of them away, dehydrated what I kept and didn't eat fresh.)

This year I want to can some, but they are very grainy in texture.
(Makes me worry about quality.)
I figure if I blanch and peel them, and do a simple syrup rather than water (like I would if they were Bartlets like my baby trees) that might do it. (Might play with making honey pears. Might wait till next time.)
Internet has very mixed opinions.

Same with Internet opinions on jucing....

Soliciting opinions and first hand experence.... I'd really like some canned pears to go with my peaches. (Not a big fan of pear sauce... I'll probably give them away first.)

Hurricane Harvey, how to help? Nurse asking

I need advice for preparing for Disaster Relief. I am an ICU nurse from Utah who just put in his application with the Red Cross, to help with the imminent need in Texas.

I need to know how best to:
-find an organization that will accept my help
-what should I bring (seems power and resources are going to be
scarce)
-what concerns should I have about safety (e.g. other people)

I would love to hear from somebody: who has helped in previous disasters, especially Hurricane Katrina; survivalists; military; etc.

CNN Charlottesville panel goes wrong

CNN apparently didn't screen this panel to suit their views. CNN's Alisyn Camerota exposed the agenda of her network by trying to sway the opinion of panel. When the panel refuses to condemn Trump's intial comments on Charlottesville, she then tries to make it seem that the panel was defending Nazis, again the panel refuse to bite. Hats off to the panel for answering intelligently.

To make matters worse, CNN then decided to run an article on the their site which made them seems like conspiracy nuts but they omitted the actual video interview from the site so they could misrepresent their statements. So after failing to bait the panel into the soundbites they needed to smear Trump, they purposely lied to discredit them. #fakenews
