Vehicles that you can crank without a starter?

i do not think compression is the limiting factor.. ive seen them used on comparatively more modern vehicles than early fords, a lot of volkswagen vehicles had them too.. breaking arms or fingers is extremely exaggerated as pretty early on people started using ratcheting crank starters

my favorite category of motorcycles are dualsports with kickstarters, theyre like the jeeps of the motorcycle world, many of them you can convert to a generator or a magneto ignition system and just forego the starting motor, alternator, and battery entirely with the bonus of shaving a lot of weight

there are other ways to start engines as well and different types of starters to consider.. say your offroad vehicle has onboard air for pneumatic tools, air lockers, etc, you can add a pneumatic starting motor as well and the compressed air tank you have on board when you shut off the engine should contain enough to start it up again.. and ive wondered if a pneumatic starter couldnt be modified to fire with an ammo cartridge (bullet removed) in a pinch if needed
