There's a lot of websites out there that have already done the side by side comparisons for you. You just have to find them. I run optics intended for 5.56 on my 7.62x51 rifles for interchangeability but I don't foresee any application where I would shoot out past 800M. I run Trijicon TA31, Luepold VXR patrol 1.25-4x20
