Is it the felonious act which makes the felon, or the conviction? For example, if I murder someone, am I a murderer from the moment the act is complete, or am I only a murderer after I am tried and convicted? If the prosecutor has too many cases to be bithered with mine, am I not a murderer because he was busy?
