The Preppers Portfolio - lets have a bit of fun

I read frequently here that the world will end very soon and that are all going to die in the Zombie apocalypse. While I believe in sensible prepping I don't think that the world will end. In that sense, emptying your bank account and exchanging your cash for Silver Eagles and Ammo is probably not the best investment. No flaming from the precious metal fraction please - and the gun nuts. I have precious metals and guns myself, but only as an insurance policy, not as my main "physical" investment.

But, as the prepper movement is growing, why not try and profit from it ? I will start a portfolio here that captures some of the trends in the movement to sustainable living, self-protection and off-grid living. I mean stocks from producers of weapons, security equipment, precious metals - in short: THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE portfolio. This is only half tongue-in-cheek, I believe we will see an increase in demand for the themes I mentioned above because of perceived insecurity and trends like the refugee crisis in Europe (I live in Switzerland).

We will start with USD 20,000 as of today. I have invested a good half of it, I feel the markets are somewhat shaky and if we get another dip down I will probably invest the rest.

First investments are

Taser - non-lethal means of self protection and standard in many European police forces
Sturm Ruger - you all know that, don't you ?
Cree - LEDs for your fancy flashlights
Spirited Funds ETF - an ETF of mainly booze makers. The ticker WSKY says it all. You need a drink when the Zombies come.
Vista Outdoor - everything you need for the outdoors and ammo. Owner of CCI, Federal Premium, Speer etc.

So I bought:

Cree - 100 - USD 2520
Sturm Ruger - 40 - USD 2338
WSKY - 30 - USD 748
Vista - 50 - USD 1924
Taser - 100 - USD 2263

Total investment: USD 9793, Cash: USD 10,207

If I ever find out how to insert pictures here from my computer it will look much better

Let me know if you find any stocks that fit that category. Liquidity is important, I actually had bought some Heckler & Koch, but there are only a few traded each day (Euronext in Paris) so that rules it out for our purposes.
