I'm leaving on a 5-stop trip starting Oct 17 and won't be back stateside until the day before Thanksgiving. I'll be in Japan for the last two weeks of that trip, including November 8 -- Election Day.
I've been getting more and more antsy lately because everywhere I go I can't carry (of course) and I pack light (carry-on only) so I don't take much in the way of "preps." Of course, being stuck on another continent if the SHTF would suck something royally. Here on my farm we have just about everything one could wish for to endure the rigors of a protracted catastrophe, but half a world away I have: ZIP, ZILCH, ZERO, NADA!
Are there many others here in my situation? Always traveling to exotic, far-flung locations a world away from your preps? How does that make you feel?
That said, I think the probability of a sudden, unexpected, major event that would make it impossible for me to get home is pretty slim, but this uneasy feeling is slowly getting stronger. It's probably worrying about nothing, but being in Japan for what is likely the most divisive presidential election in American history is mildly disconcerting.
Who will be overseas November 8, 2016?
