I was a Republican, as was my Whole Family

...Right up until 1972.

My Grandparents voted for George McGovern. They were against the war. They were against racism.

And they hated Wallace, and that was even more their vote. How, on God's green earth could the Republican Party put forth a man who stated "Segregation, now, Segregation Forever!"? T.hat. Was. 1972.

Through the rest of their lives they never voted straight-ticket Republican. I think in their life-time they never realized the Southern Strategy. They were horrified by what they saw.

They were good, kind, righteous people Religious people.

Hard working people. Smart people.

They criticized the establishment. Often. Even when it was people they voted for. I do, as well.

I can't quite wrap my head around the fact that when I critcize my President's actions that... I get death threats. ok.I Understand you Likehim... but... If I criticize him, you'll swear to hunt me down and do ____ to me? (I'm on his feeds)

I'm sitting, here in a bunker/house with 3 Rotties and (ahem) a lotta-ways to stop you. I'm not really worried about "you folk" who talk on line. I know its all bull (maybe).

But it is creepy. Maybe its because I'm a woman. The threat that someone will track me down.. I mean that's just creepy?

Look, I'm anti hatred, anti-racist, and I'm I dyed in-the-wool-Mehodist.

I just can't undertand the hate leveled at me.

Let's block ads! (Why?)
