I ran a call on a young man this morning. (Happened right where 'my route" hits blacktop. (Neighbor who saw it happened called me, so I was first on scene.)

26 year old man will now have spinal problems from the waist down (not paralized, but might end up that way.)

The reason: he was driving on a bald tire on wet roads.
He didn't remember what happened, but the neighbor who saw it said he did several 360's and to be honest as crushed as that car was I'm amazed he's still alive/not worse off.

What caused the wreck:
(I was there while the cops went over it as I got to inform (call) his father)
His right front tire was bald. Going uphill on wet roads that was enough to change this young man life forever.

As someone with a spinal injury/spinal surgery PLEASE take every precaution. I'm sure he felt he couldn't afford it, but I'd bet if he could go back he'd buy 100 tires.

Please don't end up in a ditch moaning and crying while a stranger holds your hand and tries to hold you still so your broken spine won't turn into a severed spinal cord.

The few dollars you spend aren't worth it.
