Re thinking the shotgun role in my life.

Getting old sucks. Went to the range to play with the shotguns and dispose of some extra rounds. Both the 870 Police Magnum and Mossberg 500 worked fine but I swear the recoil of the slugs and buckshot has increased. I have no issue with the birdshot but even with good technique the recoil of the high brass slugs and buck are at the point where I am planning to retire the shotguns from home defense. I do not doubt if used in anger the recoil will not be a factor but the amount of practice I do is no longer fun.

The AR is getting the slot by the bed now.
